i need a little more sunshine♥
i pass on the love i receive onto others (:

volunteering with children is something that i genuinely enjoy, especially if it involves befriending or transmitting of some form of education/skills.

as i thought about how i generally take on such projects under a variety of organisations, sometimes i wonder if im doing things right. would it be better if i could just stick to one organisation/society? would i then not have to search so hard for character referees? would i then not have to always join projects alone?

indeed i face some frustrations whenever i see intern/job/volunteer applications which require referees, because ive never been in an organisation long enough for the higher ups to know me and my contributions (which are mostly behind the scenes, or untold sacrifices).

but i simply hold on to the comfort that i dont need praise/validation from men, because God sees and knows everything i do.

therefore even if i have to join alone every time, even if it doesnt aid in my future job hunting, even if the only doors tht open for me are the ones tht require me to spend money (versus earning wages) to serve others, my decision is still to give of my time, energy and love towards these children/this particular cause.

im reminded of precious lessons each time. for chariteach 2017, once again i ask myself what is my objective in joining it and where do i derive satisfaction from. honestly it wasnt to earn cip hours/get some photo op with cute kids/look great/lead the team to win some awards. what truly brought me joy was seeing the kids gradually opened up to me and towards one another. it warmed my heart to see them working together as one, even if they are from different races, ages and schools. even though their only objective when i asked them at the start of the day was to learn photoshop, more importantly, i hoped they valued the experience more for the interactions, soft skills and values of teamwork, mutual respect and perseverance.

looking forward to more of similar events (:

update: still holding onto the slight hope of msf/ssi to getting back to me + africa dream will come true.
